There is no show that comes close to being as special as a house show

Let’s bring the people together

Want to host?

Email me with any questions you have and let’s put together a special night where you can bring your community together for a one of a kind evening.

Below is a little bit more about what to expect from a house show and some testimonials (so you know what you’re getting). Thank you for being cool!

How Do We Do This Thing?

I started playing house shows in 2022 and I can’t say enough good things about them. There is so much noise out there in the world, and a house show is a space where you can pull together people that mean something to you and together we can share some music and stories that make them feel something (don’t worry, I can take care of the public speaking part).

Generally speaking, we set up a house show like this.

  • The host (you) decides on a space to use. Often it’s in your home, but sometimes we use public spaces like churches, parks, event centers, etc.

  • You invite 20+ people that you enjoy being around. It’s amazing how much fun we can have surrounded by friends who trust each other to have a good time.

  • Guests throw $20-30 towards a collective pot, and that gets sent with the musician. Keeping it structured like a donation lets you avoid having to think of yourself as a business.

  • I provide all the equipment and set up. Just need a spot for electricity and the rest is handled.

  • Often there is a potluck and byob hang out before the show, maybe an hour or so. Then I play two sets (each is around 45 minutes long with a short break in between for leg stretching, snacks, and high fives).

  • Sometimes a spot for the artist to sleep is provided if I’m touring, or just a spot to park the van. Whatever you’re comfortable with.

Those are the broad strokes, but there really isn’t too much more to it. I’m here to help every step of the way, and I can also put you in contact with other people out there hosting house shows with great success. It really is an amazing way to share music and time. For more information check this site, Listening Room Network, (I use it a lot while touring).

What Hosts Are Saying

- G. Beart. Edmonton, Canada

"Ben Gage is a very accomplished artist and singer. Ben is an amazing harmonica player. He has excellent equipment, as his singing was so clear and smooth and the volume was set just right. Ben was very good at interacting with the guests. His songs were very entertaining and thought provoking. Very easy to get along with. Ben was an excellent house guest and I would definitely recommend him for your home concert."

- M. Atkinson. Auburn, Washington

"Ben immediately grabbed our guest’s attention with his exceptional guitar skills, tremendous voice and songwriting that revealed relatable stories … and his sense of humor left everyone smiling. We could not have asked for a better performance. The general consensus is that Ban Gage provided the best performance we have hosted in our 9 years of House Concerts. All pre and post-show communication was clear and concise. IMO, he has the best website I have seen with his "musings". Awesome artist!”

- B. Sands. Green Bay, Wisconsin

"Our first concert of 2024 could not have gone any better! We had a huge response from our audience and they were treated to a fabulous night. Ben Gage is an amazing young man with enormous talent. I have never seen our audience explode with more cheers, and enthusiasm as they did with Ben. He writes beautiful music, plays guitar with tremendous skill and interacts with the audience like they are his best friends. Also Ben is a wonderful house guest and new friend, easily one of our top three!"
